SuperTack Fixation Tacks – Titanium GBR (3mm, 4mm, 5mm)

SuperTack fixation tacks are precision-engineered titanium pins designed for secure fixation of membranes, meshes, and cortical plates during Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) procedures. Manufactured from implant-grade Ti-6Al-4V (Ti Gr5) titanium certified to ASTM F136, SuperTack tacks deliver high primary stability with controlled, atraumatic removal.

A defining feature of the SuperTack system is its unique head geometry. The 2.5 mm diameter tack head features a flat-bottom design that ensures uniform, stable compression of the membrane or mesh against bone, regardless of material type. This geometry provides a tight, reliable grip without tearing or deforming the membrane.

Traditionally, PTFE and titanium-reinforced membranes require fixation screws rather than tacks. SuperTack is the first hybrid fixation system designed to securely fixate resorbable membranes, non-resorbable PTFE-Ti membranes, titanium mesh, and cortical plates using a single tack-based system—eliminating the need to switch fixation methods based on material choice.

The tack shaft is tapered to allow easy insertion into cancellous and hard cortical bone while enabling predictable removal after healing. The blue surface coloration is achieved through titanium anodization—not dyes—creating a biocompatible titanium oxide layer that improves visibility under soft tissue during removal.

All SuperTack tacks are plasma surface cleaned, packaged in a cleanroom environment, and supplied sterile via gamma-ray sterilization.

Material & Biocompatibility

SuperTack tacks are manufactured from Ti Gr5 titanium alloy certified to ASTM F136, the established standard for implantable medical devices. Although Ti Gr5 is an alloy, it is fully biocompatible and widely used in dental and orthopedic implantology. The anodized blue coloration results from controlled oxide layer formation and contains no dyes or toxic elements.

Removal

Tacks may be removed once the bone graft has fully healed. Removal requires only a minimal incision, allowing the tapered tack to be gently slid out. There is no time limitation for removal, as the titanium material is approved for permanent implantation. For anterior and lingual access, a dedicated lingual applicator is available to facilitate placement and retrieval in challenging anatomical areas.
