Hu-Friedy Periodontal Surgical Files
Periodontal files are specialized instruments designed to crush, smooth, and refine bone during periodontal and osseous surgery. Their multi-fluted working ends allow controlled filing strokes in both directions, making them essential for precise bone contouring in anatomically restricted sites.
Clinical Applications
- Osseous recontouring and bone finishing during periodontal surgery
- Interproximal bone smoothing in gingivectomy and flap procedures
- Removal of granulomatous tissue from supra-bony and infra-bony pockets
- Site preparation for regenerative and grafting procedures
Patterns Available
- Buck 11/12 – Designed for controlled interproximal access; dual-sided file surfaces support filing strokes from either direction in tight interdental spaces
- Schluger 9/10S – Curved working design for improved interproximal access; dual-sided surfaces for controlled osseous smoothing
- Sugarman 1S/2S (Mesial/Distal) – Interproximal orientation for mesial and distal site access; dual-sided file surfaces
- Sugarman 3S/4S (Buccal/Lingual) – Designed for removal of granulomatous tissue in supra-bony and infra-bony pockets; buccal/lingual orientation
All instruments are constructed from surgical stainless steel and are fully autoclavable for repeated clinical use.
