Description
LOOK™ Silk sutures offer clinicians a time-tested, easy-to-handle option for soft tissue closure in a wide range of oral and periodontal procedures. Manufactured using modern noncapillary silk and an advanced braiding technique, these sutures deliver exceptional handling, excellent knot security, and a smooth, uniform surface that passes easily through tissue.
While silk sutures are valued for their superior handling characteristics, they are typically recommended for short-term use in the mouth due to their braided structure, which can wick bacteria. Removal is generally advised within approximately one week.
Key Features
Noncapillary braided silk for predictable, comfortable handling.
Excellent knot security and reliable tension control — even in tight or awkward intraoral spaces.
Modern braiding technique creates a smooth, uniform surface for controlled tissue passage.
High tensile strength suitable for a broad range of intraoral closures.
Coated to enhance smoothness and reduce tissue drag.
Available dyed black for high visibility in the surgical field.
Clinical Considerations
Braided construction can wick bacteria — not recommended for long-term use near implants or grafts. Planned removal is typically recommended approximately one week after placement.
Common Dental Use Cases
Soft tissue closure after extractions, periodontal surgery, or mucogingival procedures
Gum grafts requiring delicate handling and controlled tissue approximation
High-tension closures where knot security is advantageous
General intraoral suturing where ease of use is a priority
