Description
Hu-Friedy Orban single-ended periodontal knives are surgical knives used in periodontal soft-tissue procedures. The Orban knife pattern is associated with Dr. Balint Orban, a pioneer in periodontology, and represents a long-established design in periodontal instrumentation.
The Orban No. 1 and Orban No. 2 knives correspond to the individual working ends of the Orban 1/2 double-ended instrument, offered in single-ended configurations for clinicians who prefer a dedicated working end. Each features an angled blade with a contra-angled shank, designed to support posterior access.
These knives are used for incisions that remove or recontour soft tissue and are also useful for excising interproximal tissue.
