Description
Hu-Friedy Hoexter Luxating Elevators are surgical luxators designed to loosen teeth from the periodontal ligament while preserving the buccal and lingual bone during extraction. Developed around the mesial/distal extraction philosophy articulated by Dr. David Hoexter, these instruments are intended to protect the osseous ridge and support predictable implant outcomes.
Rather than luxating toward the thinner buccal plate, Hoexter elevators are used in the mesial or distal plane, reducing traumatic or ischemic bone loss and helping maintain ridge architecture for bone regeneration and future implant placement.

Hoexter luxating elevators feature thin, sharp working ends optimized for controlled periodontal ligament severing rather than heavy levering. Left and right configurations allow precise adaptation to mesial or distal root surfaces while maintaining tactile control.
