Clinical purpose and use
Mini-Cryer elevators are typically used after initial periodontal ligament release to elevate fractured roots or retained root segments. The triangular Cryer-style tip engages the root or interradicular bone, allowing the clinician to apply controlled leverage without excessive force.
Common indications include lower molar root removal, elevation of fractured or retained roots, posterior extractions where forceps access is limited, and surgical cases requiring precise directional control.
