Description
The Atlas™ Apical Beak Extraction Forceps from Hu-Friedy are designed for extractions requiring apical progression and controlled penetration of the periodontal ligament space. This PDP applies specifically to Atlas apical beak models, intended for teeth with compromised coronal structure or where atraumatic apical advancement is preferred.
Atlas apical beaks feature a thin, sharp, tapered profile designed to facilitate entry into the PDL, support ligament severance, and allow progressive apical advancement while minimizing unnecessary socket expansion. Combined with the Atlas internal spring hinge, the design supports controlled manipulation with reduced hand fatigue and improved procedural efficiency.
Tooth-specific apical geometries provide stable engagement on root structure, supporting controlled traction and rotational forces while reducing the risk of buccal plate fracture. As with all Atlas instruments, these forceps are manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel and are fully compatible with standard steam sterilization.
