Description
Hu-Friedy Orban 1/2 knives are double-ended periodontal surgical knives used in periodontal soft-tissue procedures. The Orban knife pattern is associated with Dr. Balint Orban, a pioneer in periodontology, and remains a long-established design in periodontal instrumentation.
The Orban 1/2 features an angled blade with a contra-angled shank, designed for posterior access. It is used for incisions that remove or recontour soft tissue and is also useful for excising interproximal tissue. The double-ended configuration provides both Orban blade designs in a single instrument.
