Helistat® Absorbable Collagen Hemostatic Sponge (Integra 1690ZZ) is a soft, white, pliable collagen sponge designed to provide rapid hemostasis in oral and surgical procedures. Made from ultra-pure bovine Achilles tendon collagen, Helistat delivers consistent, reliable bleeding control within 2–5 minutes and is completely absorbable if left in place.
The non-friable sponge structure ensures precise handling and placement without tearing or unwanted dispersal. Upon contact with blood, Helistat promotes platelet aggregation and fibrin formation, strengthening the clot and accelerating hemostasis when conventional methods such as pressure or ligature are ineffective.
