The PTIH handle is designed specifically for use with Hu-Friedy interchangeable periotome blades, providing secure blade engagement and controlled tactile feedback during ligament release.
Clinical Note
Interchangeable periotome blades are cutting instruments, not elevators. They are intended for controlled circumferential motion along the root surface. When additional force or elevation is required, clinicians typically transition to luxating or elevator instruments.
