Description
Glycolon™ by Resorba® is a trusted synthetic absorbable monofilament suture composed of a PGA–PCL copolymer (polyglycolic acid and polycaprolactone). It offers a balance of strength, softness, and predictability for a wide range of oral and surgical applications.
The monofilament construction ensures smooth tissue passage and eliminates bacterial wicking common to braided sutures, resulting in less tissue drag, reduced inflammation, and improved healing outcomes.
Key Features
- Monofilament construction — smooth passage, no bacterial wicking, reduced tissue drag.
- ~50% tensile strength retained for 11–13 days, with complete predictable resorption thereafter.
- PGA–PCL copolymer — combines the strength of PGA with the flexibility and softness of PCL.
- 300-series stainless steel needles available in silver and black finish (black for enhanced visibility in delicate procedures).
- 45 cm strand length, 12 sutures per box.
- Available in violet and undyed (clear) thread colors.
Material & Construction
- Material: PGA–PCL copolymer (polyglycolic acid / polycaprolactone), synthetic absorbable.
