Description
The only solder-free, 360° rotational orthodontic traction system — engineered for complex impacted canine cases where force direction changes over time.
The Cusp-Lok Swivel 360 eliminates the directional limitations, solder failure risk, and force distortion that affect traditional chain-based traction systems. A ¾-inch 14K gold chain rotates freely through 360° within a precision 4 mm stainless-steel base — no solder joint, no weak point, no restricted vector.
When to Choose Cusp-Lok Swivel 360
- When traction direction is expected to change over time
- When minimizing mechanical stress and chain fatigue is critical
- When managing complex or deeply impacted cases
- When a premium, fail-safe traction solution is preferred over standard chain
Why Swivel 360 Exists
Traditional gold-chain traction systems rely on solder joints or fixed attachment points, which can:
- Restrict force direction
- Concentrate stress at the solder joint
- Increase the risk of chain fatigue or detachment
Cusp-Lok Swivel 360 was designed specifically to remove these failure points, giving clinicians full freedom of activation without mechanical compromise.
Key Features
- True 360° rotational activation — unrestricted force direction from any vector

- 4 mm stainless-steel base — secure bonding with minimal bulk
- Designed for complex expose-and-bond orthodontic traction cases
- Non-sterile, individually packaged
- Made in the USA
- FDA Class I Medical Device
Clinical Use
Used during oral surgery and orthodontic treatment of unerupted or impacted teeth — most commonly cuspids — when multi-directional traction or evolving force vectors are required. After surgical exposure, the base is bonded to the tooth or bone surface. The rotating gold chain allows the orthodontist to apply controlled traction from any direction using ligature wire or auxiliary attachments, without inducing torsion or stress at the attachment point.
This reduces mechanical failure, improves force accuracy, and simplifies adjustments over the course of treatment.
System Overview
Each Swivel 360 unit integrates a ¾-inch 14K gold chain into a 4 mm stainless-steel base using precision, solder-free construction. The chain rotates freely within the base, supporting dynamic orthodontic mechanics as the impacted tooth moves and the traction vector evolves over time.
Why 14K Gold?
The Swivel 360 uses 14K gold — not 10K — because higher gold content delivers:
- Superior biocompatibility in the oral environment
- Greater resistance to tarnish and corrosion
- Improved ductility and flexibility under repeated activation
This makes 14K gold better suited for long-term intraoral traction where durability and patient safety are paramount.
