Description
Bracket-based orthodontic traction for impacted cuspids — with a longer 1" chain for cases requiring greater reach. Available in 6 bracket shapes.
Cusp-Lok 2 is the same proven bracket-and-chain system as Cusp-Lok 1, with one key difference: a 1" 14K gold chain instead of ¾". That extra quarter-inch provides more working length during exposure and eruption guidance — useful when the impacted tooth is deeper, access is more limited, or the orthodontist needs additional chain to engage after bonding.
Cusp-Lok 1 vs. Cusp-Lok 2: Which Chain Length?
- Cusp-Lok 1 (¾" chain) — Compact working length; preferred when access is straightforward and minimal chain exposure is needed
- Cusp-Lok 2 (1" chain) — Extended working length; preferred for deeper impactions, limited access, or when more chain must remain accessible post-bonding
When to Choose Cusp-Lok 2
- When a longer working chain length (1") is needed for the case
- When the impacted tooth is deeper or more difficult to access
- When bracket shape selection is needed to match access or tooth orientation
- When a predictable, familiar bracket-and-chain workflow is preferred
Available Bracket Shapes
- Regular — Standard profile for routine access and bonding
- Low Profile — Reduced height for limited clearance situations
- Mini — Smaller footprint for tighter bonding surfaces
- Mini Low Profile — Compact and low-height for constrained access
- Mini Curved — Curved base to conform to curved tooth surfaces
- Mini Curved Low Profile — Maximum adaptability in the most demanding access conditions
Key Features
- Stainless-steel orthodontic bracket with pre-attached 1" 14K gold chain
- 6 bracket shapes to suit access, profile, and tooth orientation
- 1" chain length — extended working length for deeper or more complex cases
- 14K gold chain: superior biocompatibility and corrosion resistance
- Smooth, tissue-friendly chain — reduces irritation during healing and activation
- Non-sterile, individually packaged
- Made in the USA
- FDA Class I Medical Device
Clinical Use
Used in expose-and-bond procedures where a bracket is bonded to the facial surface of an impacted cuspid. After surgical exposure, the bracket is bonded and the attached 1" gold chain is engaged by the orthodontist to apply controlled traction using ligature wire, elastics, or auxiliary attachments. The longer chain is particularly suited to cases where more chain must remain accessible above the tissue margin after bonding.
