Description

The throat pack that stays where you put it — and comes out in one piece.

Loose gauze throat packs migrate, collapse, and fragment. The C-Sponge Regular (CSR100) doesn't. Engineered from soft, highly absorbent polyurethane foam, it maintains its oval shape when fully saturated — protecting the airway, controlling fluid, and staying firmly in place from incision to extubation.

Used in oral surgery, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, and sedation dentistry. Sold in bags of 100 — purpose-built for high-volume surgical practices.

Why Surgeons Switch from Gauze

  • Gauze migrates. The C-Sponge's oval form and foam structure resist displacement even under active suctioning.
  • Gauze collapses. Polyurethane foam maintains its shape when wet — no bunching, no gaps in airway coverage.
  • Gauze fragments. The C-Sponge comes out as a single, intact unit — easy to confirm removal before extubation.
  • Gauze is hard to see. The C-Sponge's distinct shape and color make visual confirmation fast and reliable.

Key Features

  • Oval polyurethane foam construction — maintains shape and position when saturated
  • Highly absorbent — controls blood and fluid without compromising airway protection
  • Smooth, atraumatic surface — supports gentle placement and removal with reduced pharyngeal trauma risk
  • Allows active suctioning without dislodgement
  • Autoclavable prior to use when a sterile field is required (plastic cycle)
  • Easy visual confirmation before extubation — no fragment counting
  • Latex-free
  • Non-toxic polyurethane foam — does not present an ingestion hazard

Clinical Applications

  • Routine and complex dental extractions
  • Orthognathic and maxillofacial surgery
  • Trauma-related jaw and facial procedures
  • Sedation dentistry cases requiring airway protection and fluid control
